Theme Videos

You can add videos to your themed collection, and play them during the stream.

When you choose a video to add from your Photos library, you will be prompted to provide a name for that video (to help you identify it during the stream), as well as select one of two options:

Mute Mic While Playing

Enabling this will mute the microphone while the video is playing. This is intended to mute the live sound while playing back videos which have their own audio.

Play Full Screen

This will determine whether the video is played back instead of the live camera video. If enabled, when you play the video the camera will stop, and start again when the video is done playing.

If disabled, the video will play on top of the camera video. In this scenario, you can utilize the green screen effect to make the theme video transparent.

Video Transperancy

SportStream Camera supports a "green screen" effect for video transparency. If you add a theme video that has a pure green background, the green will not be rendered, allowing you to create animations that can play overtop of the live camera video.

Green Screen Settings

You can adjust the threshold of the green screen effect in the iOS Settings app, under Apps -> SportStream Camera. There is a "Video Green Screen Threshold" setting that you can try different settings for until you are happy with the results. The default setting for this value is 0.2

Video Size

Theme Videos should be in 16x9 format (widescreen). The app will resize the theme video to fit the screen - if your video is not 16x9, it will appear stretched.

Video sizes

The best size for theme videos is 1920x1080. This will prevent any resizing, ensuring your video is crisp and clear.

Replay Stinger

The Replay Stinger is a short (~1 second) video that plays as the stream transitions from live video to full screen replay. You can use your own stinger video in your themed collection - for example, to integrate sponsor logos when playing replays.

The replay stinger will use the green screen effect, allowing for transparancy. For a smooth video transition, your replay stinger video should cover the entire screen around 0.5 seconds after it starts, so the switch from live video to replay playback happens behind it.
